Virginia Mann, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 1, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, Virginia was the cherished daughter of Frances and Pearl Foster.
Virginia was predeceased by her loving parents, her brothers and sisters, and her dear son and daughters. She is survived by her devoted children, Kenny, Terry, and Valerie, who were the light of her life. Her legacy also lives on through her eight treasured grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
In 1954, Virginia graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan, marking the beginning of a life characterized by dedication and service. She spent many years working for the City of Detroit at the Police Headquarters at 1300 Beaubien, where she was known for her diligence and commitment.
Virginia shared a beautiful life with her husband, Samuel D. Mann, with whom she built a family rooted in love and unity. Her deep faith was a cornerstone of her life, and for over 30 years, she was an active member of True Love Baptist Church, where her presence and warmth were felt deeply by the congregation.
Virginia was known for her beautiful smile, a reflection of her kind and generous spirit. She loved to play cards and enjoyed visiting the casino, where her laughter and enthusiasm were infectious.
A service honoring Virginia's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 12:50 PM at Pye Funeral Home in Detroit, Michigan. The family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating her remarkable life.
