It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Virginia Ibarra De Ruiz, who passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on November 29, 1955, in the beautiful town of Santa Maria Del Oro, Nayarit, Mexico, Virginia was a beacon of strength, faith, and kindness throughout her 70 years. Virginia was the cherished daughter of Luis Ibarra Cilva and Uvaldina Cabanilla Renteria. She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her brothers Juan and Jesus "Chuy" Ibarra, and her sister Adela Ibarra, all of whom predeceased her. Her legacy is lovingly carried forward by her sons, Luis, Ramon, Francisco, and Jorge Ruiz, their devoted spouses, and her adoring grandchildren. Her life was a testament to hard work and dedication. Virginia spent roughly 50 years as a skilled seamstress, where she crafted garments with meticulous care. Her career extended into the restaurant service industry, where she was known for her remarkable work ethic and her genuine care for others. Virginia's children and grandchildren were the beneficiaries of her invaluable lessons in resilience and compassion. A woman of deep faith, Virginia was a devoted Catholic who regularly attended Our Lady of Guadalupe in Logan Heights. Her spiritual journey also led her often to the Cathedral in Tijuana, particularly during the Easter season. Her faith was the foundation of her life, providing her strength and comfort during her battle with stage four liver cancer, diagnosed in October 2025. Virginia's passions extended beyond her work and faith. She found immense joy in tending her garden, nurturing plants and caring for her beloved chickens, a pastime she shared with her grandchildren. She relished in traveling with her family and treasured the simple yet profound act of attending church services. Those who knew Virginia will forever remember her for her incredible strength, unwavering faith, and warm, loving spirit. Her wonderful sense of humor brought light and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a source of comfort and guidance, offering a listening ear and wise words to those in need. The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have offered love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks are extended to the compassionate staff at Scripps Hospital Green in La Jolla. The family is especially grateful for Christina’s invaluable medical expertise and personal comfort, which provided both crucial support and loving companionship to Virginia. Luis, Francisco, Ramon, and Jorge Ruiz, her beloved sons, are honored for embodying the love and unity that Virginia cherished. Deep appreciation is also extended to her daughters-in-law, especially Elena Ruiz, Laura Ruiz, and Christina, whose unwavering love and support were a constant source of strength. Virginia Ibarra De Ruiz will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and her legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire us all.
