Virginia "Ginger" Huson, a beacon of warmth and joy, left us peacefully on June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life. Born on May 3, 1941, in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, Ginger lived a life that was as colorful and dynamic as the flowers she so adored. Ginger was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Patricia Hashbarger, her cherished daughter, Lori Zipp-Smith, and her devoted husband, Homer Smith. She was a loving wife to Homer Huson, with whom she shared 31 wonderful years of marriage, filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. Her legacy is carried forward by her children, Robert Zipp (Celia), Kevin Zipp (Sandy), and Tina Elliott (Jeff), who each reflect the compassion and strength that Ginger instilled in them. Her grandchildren, Samantha Martinez (Chris), John Douglas (Kelly), Allie Zipp (Nick), Robbie Zipp (Taylor), Conner Elliott, Camryn Elliott, Katlin Levy, Joe Lemaniak, Andrew Lemaniak, and Maranda Dahl, along with her 12 great-grandchildren, were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Jeanie Tidd (Dutch), with whom she shared countless cherished memories. Ginger dedicated 17 years of her professional life to Costco Wholesale, where she worked in the benefits department. Her commitment and hard work laid a foundation for her children, inspiring them to follow in her footsteps at Costco. She made friends everywhere she went, leaving an indelible mark on both her colleagues and the company. Outside of work, Ginger was a woman of many passions. She loved the thrill of bowling, the joy of dancing, and the serenity of knitting and coloring. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful baskets of flowers she meticulously planted, which brightened her home and those of others. Shopping was a delight she enjoyed thoroughly, and she relished the camaraderie of playing games, especially the lively Friday night Farkle sessions with friends. Ginger’s life was a testament to the power of love and friendship. Her ability to make friends everywhere she went was a testament to her kindness and welcoming spirit. She loved her family fiercely and was the glue that held them together, always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a heart full of love. As we say goodbye to Ginger, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a constant reminder of the joy and warmth she brought into the world. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman who touched so many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a flower in her memory, continuing her legacy of beauty and love.
