In Loving Memory

Virginia Flossie Pepler
September 16, 1942 โ October 16, 2026
Virginia Flossie Pepler, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, surrounded by her devoted daughters in a circle of love and comfort. Born on September 16, 1942, in Sturgis, Kentucky, Virginia was the cherished daughter of Azel Vestle and Geneva Mae Murray. Her journey through life was marked by a deep love for family, an unwavering spirit, and a zest for life that touched everyone she met.
Virginia's early life in Kentucky was filled with the warmth of family and the nurturing embrace of her siblings. Though she was predeceased by her parents, her brothers RL, Vestel, and Kenneth Murray, and her sisters Esther Garrett and Rosie Loetis Moxley, Virginia carried their memories with her throughout her life.
Virginia married Robert John Pepler on May 6, 1961, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that lasted 34 years until Robert's passing. Together, they raised three wonderful daughters: Nancy Niemczewski (Vince), Kimberly Hubbard (Ronald), and Cynthia Patrick (Matthew). Her daughters were her pride and joy, and they, along with her brother Richard Murray, five grandchildren, Melissa Brady (Thomas), Jerod Hubbard (Hannah), Justin Hubbard (Madison), Devin Patrick, Garrett Patrick, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews continue to carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
After many years, Virginia remarried William Green, who also preceded her in death. The love and memories she shared with both Robert and William were treasures she held dear.
Virginia worked at Kroger's for twenty years, where her kindness, determination, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, she found joy in bowling, bingo, dancing, and the thrill of slot machines. She was known for her adventurous spirit, traveling to new places, and always making time to create cherished memories with her family.
Known for her kind-heartedness and fun-loving nature, Virginia's laughter was infectious, and her stubborn streak was admired by those who knew her best. She was a true friend, steadfast and loyal, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
A funeral service to honor Virginia's remarkable life will be held on October 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Roseland Cemetery, located at 29001 Woodward Ave. in Berkley. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating a life well-lived and to share in the love that Virginia so abundantly gave. We encourage everyone to wear her favorite color of purple to her funeral to honor her memory. ๐
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support breast cancer research, a cause close to Virginia's heart. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Henry Ford Hospice for the compassionate care provided in her final months.
