Virginia Faye Hawkins, affectionately known as Faye, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 8, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 3, 1941, in the close-knit community of Camden, Texas, Faye embraced life with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of love.
Faye was the cherished daughter of Marvin and Virginia Valerie Modisette, who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication. She carried these principles throughout her life, carving out a remarkable career as a successful entrepreneur and a trailblazer in her field. Faye owned two management companies and a fire extinguisher company, demonstrating her remarkable business acumen. Her adventurous spirit led her to become a Coast Guard licensed commercial captain and a certified dive master, showcasing her passion for the sea and exploration.
A devoted member of the Parkgate Community Church, Faye found immense joy in organizing the Kids Hope Mentoring Program, where she touched the lives of countless children with her kindness and wisdom. Her faith and commitment to her church were unwavering, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand, embodying the true spirit of community.
Faye's personal life was a testament to her fiercely independent nature and boundless love for her family. Her son, Barry Hawkins, daughter-in-law, Diane Hawkins, and her beloved grandson, Jason Hawkins, were the center of her world. She often expressed that her grandson, Jason, was her pride and joy, and she believed the sun rose and set in his eyes. Her sister, Linda Fraser, also shared a profound bond with Faye, enriching her life with sisterly love and camaraderie.
Beyond her professional and familial achievements, Faye was an avid sailor, finding solace and excitement on the open waters. Her love for the ocean and diving was a metaphor for the depth and richness of her life—one that encouraged others to dive deeply into their own passions and dreams.

A celebration of Faye's remarkable life will be held on May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, located at 2602 S. Houston Ave., Humble, TX. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the legacy of a woman who lived life with grace, determination, and an unwavering love for those she held dear.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Faye's memory to the Kids Hope Mentoring Program at Parkgate Community Church, ensuring that her legacy of love and mentorship continues to inspire future generations.
