In Loving Memory

Virginia Ann Edwards
April 13, 1927 — June 23, 2026
It is with profound sadness and yet a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Virginia Ann Edwards, who peacefully departed this world on June 23, 2026, at the Palm City Nursing Home. Virginia graced this world for 99 years, having been born on April 13, 1927, in the quaint town of Harriman, Tennessee.
Virginia was the beloved daughter of the late James Harry Duff and Della Maude Duff. Her early life in Harriman was filled with the love and camaraderie of a lively household, sharing joyous moments with her multiple siblings who preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Virginia carried the values and resilience instilled in her by her parents, which she passed on to her own family.
Virginia was the cherished mother of five remarkable children. She is predeceased by her daughters, Brenda Petkaitis and Glenda Amland, and her grandson, Steven Allen Mareno Jr. Her legacy is lovingly continued by her surviving daughter, Carol Mareno of Hobe Sound, Florida, and her sons, Steven Mareno and his wife Donna of Palm City, Florida, and Walter Edwards and his wife Deborah of Cleveland, Tennessee. Virginia's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy in her eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and the warmth she brought into their lives.
Virginia's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a woman of quiet strength, known for her gentle spirit and the kindness she extended to everyone she encountered. Her family remembers her as a devoted mother and grandmother, who worked tirelessly to ensure they felt nurtured and supported. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where she delighted in spending time with her loved ones, sharing stories, and creating memories that will endure for generations.
In her later years, Virginia found solace in the simple pleasures of life, her days enriched by the company of family and friends. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, yet her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Virginia's life, as was her wish. In this intimate gathering, family members will come together to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on this world.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Virginia, we hold dear the special message from her family: "Always in our lives and forever in our hearts. Rest in peace." May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who went before her and fondly remembered by those she leaves behind.
