With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Virgil Darnell Henry, who slipped into a peaceful slumber on June 2, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on May 29, 1974, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Virgil was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend whose warmth and laughter enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Virgil was born to Barbara Leffall-Henry and the late Cecil Ray Henry. From a young age, Virgil exhibited a remarkable talent for understanding how things worked, a gift that would later define his career. He was predeceased by his father, Cecil Henry, and a host of cherished aunts, uncles, and grandparents who undoubtedly welcomed him home with open arms.
A proud product of Muskogee, Virgil attended Muskogee High School, where he showcased his athletic prowess on the basketball court. Pursuing his passion for craftsmanship, he earned his GED from Vo-Tech Adult Education and achieved a certification as an Electrical Apprentice. Virgil's hands were his tools, and there was nothing he couldn't fix. Known for his electrical skill and handyman work, he was a man who could bring light into any darkness.
Virgil's personal life was as vibrant as his professional one. He was a devoted father to his four children: daughters Domonique Henry and Keiarie Henry, and sons Dwayne Henry and James Stevens. Though he leaves behind no grandchildren, his legacy of love and laughter lives on in the hearts of his children and siblings, Sylvia Henry Miller and Shanae Harris, as well as his cherished mother, Barbara Henry.
His talent for storytelling and humor was legendary; Virgil had a way of making everyone around him feel welcomed and valued. Whether playing dominoes, listening to music with his friends, or cracking a joke to lighten the mood, his warmth and generosity touched countless lives. Virgil's presence was a gift, and his kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Howard Harris Funeral Home and to all family and friends who have provided unwavering support and prayer during this difficult time. In honoring Virgil's wishes, a private ceremony has been held to celebrate his life and bid him farewell.
Virgil's journey was one of love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit. Though he has left this world, his light will continue to shine in the memories of those who loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
