Vincent Piccolino

January 15, 1963 — September 27, 2026

Vincent "Vinny" Piccolino, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, after his valiant fourth battle with cancer, a challenge he faced with the same courage and resilience that defined his life. Born on January 15, 1963, in The Bronx, Vinny grew up with a deep love for his community and an unwavering commitment to service. Vinny was the cherished son of John and Rosemarie Piccolino-Scoma, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Claudia Roessner, with whom he shared 26 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home in Long Beach, New York, nurturing a family filled with joy and warmth. He leaves behind his treasured children: his daughter, Angelina, and twins, Anthony and Johncarlo. Vinny also remains in the hearts of his brother, John, his sister-in-law, Patti, and their children, Jessica and Michele. Vinny's journey began in Long Beach, where he attended Long Beach High School. He initially took a job at Newsweek, but it was his true calling as a New York City firefighter that defined his professional life. On September 11, 2001, Vinny stood among the heroes who selflessly defended and protected others, a testament to his bravery and dedication. A man of immense compassion, Vinny was always there with a smile and a listening ear, offering comfort to those who needed it. His love for his children was immeasurable, and he found joy in the simple moments of life spent with family and friends in Long Beach. Vinny's life will be celebrated at Christopher T. Funeral Home on Thursday 2pm to 8pm, 302 Long Beach Road, Island Park, NY. The funeral service will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ignatius in Long Beach, New York. As we gather to honor his memory, we remember a great husband, father, and friend who will be greatly missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Vinny's memory to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization close to his heart, based in Staten Island, NY. Vinny Piccolino's legacy of love, courage, and community service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of kindness and strength.
