It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Vincent Peter Besze, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, on August 31, 2026. Vincent was born on June 15, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, to John Besze and Marie Kuhn. He was 86 years old. Vincent was a man defined by his unwavering dedication to his family and his work. He married the love of his life, Nellie Rae Shahan, on April 9, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland. Their 65-year union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised three wonderful children—Vincent J. Besze, Bryan C. Besze, and Jennifer Gleason, and their nephew, Steven Bradshaw. Their home was always filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family. Vincent's professional life was marked by his skill as a master mechanic. He joined Kosco Heritage in 1968 as an HVAC technician and dedicated 43 years to the company, eventually retiring as the Supervising Manager of Installations. Vincent's passion for his work extended beyond his formal employment; he was a self-taught tradesman in plumbing, electrical work, welding, and carpentry, always eager to lend a helping hand. In his personal life, Vincent's hobbies reflected his vibrant spirit and zest for life. In his youth, he found joy in customizing cars and playing poker. As a father and grandfather, he shared his love for bass fishing, snowmobiling in Old Forge, and camping in West Virginia. In retirement, he delighted in traveling, gardening, watching Westerns, and tending to his cherished hummingbirds. Vincent is predeceased by his beloved wife Nellie, his parents Marie and John, and his brother Gerald. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his children Vincent J. Besze and wife Heather, Bryan C. Besze and wife Elaine, and Jennifer Gleason and husband Charles Gleason Jr. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Harris and brother in law Fredrick Harris. His legacy lives on through his five grandchildren—Jonathon Besze, fiancee Carla Cinelli, Brittney Patsey and husband Adam Patsey, Devin Besze and wife Maryssa, Benjamin Besze and fiancee Maggie Nealy, and Caiden and Reece Gleason-and three great-grandchildren, Gianna Skelly, Enzo Besze, and Sophia Patsey. He also leaves behind his nephew Steven Bradshaw, great-niece Leann Andrews and husband Chris Andrews, his sister-in-laws Karen Shahan and Isabelle Faison, and brother in law Robert Shahan, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Vincent's life will be celebrated with a service on September 8, 2026, at 5-7:00 PM at the Dapson Chestney Funeral Home, located at 51 West Market St, Po Box 515, Rhinebeck, NY 12572. Vincent Peter Besze will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him. He touched countless lives and will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
