September 7, 1961 — May 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent "Dino" Thomas, who departed this life on May 13, 2026. Born on September 7, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY, Dino was a beloved husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be remembered for his boundless generosity, infectious smile, and unwavering loyalty. Dino was the cherished son of the late Henry and Virginia Thomas (nee Land). He was predeceased by his loving parents and several aunts, whose memories he always held dear. Dino is survived by his devoted wife, Malkia Cherry-Thomas, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship since 2013, culminating in their marriage on September 28, 2022. Though they did not have children together, Dino's heart was full with the love of his three daughters, Octavia, Tameeka, and Nicole, and his stepson, Kessonga Cherry-Clark. Dino was a proud brother to Synovia Crump and a caring uncle to his nephew, Dischamel Cherry. He leaves behind a host of cousins—Michael, Brenton, Leslie, and Jerry Land—along with a vast extended family and friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth. A man of service, Dino joined the Army in 1979 after earning his GED, proudly serving our country until 1985 and continuing as a part-time reservist until 2001, including his time during the Gulf War. Dino's dedication to his work was evident in his 35-year career at Con Edison, where he began as a general utility worker in 1989, ultimately retiring as a materials analyst in 2024. His commitment to his duties and his colleagues was unwavering, and his legacy at Con Edison will be remembered fondly. Dino's life was marked by his involvement with the Macedonia Lodge #5 in Brooklyn, NY, where he was a valued Mason. His love for the outdoors and the sea was unmatched, as he was an avid fisherman and a proud boat owner, eagerly anticipating the start of each fishing season. Dino's competitive spirit shone brightest at the pool table, where he was a champion-level pool shooter, participating in numerous tournaments over the years. A true sports enthusiast, his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys was unwavering, a testament to his enduring passion for football. Those who knew Dino will remember his amazing presence, quick wit, and the joy he brought into every room. A true jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. Dino was a man of his word, someone you could always count on, and his generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Though his time with us was cut short, the impact of Dino's life will be felt for generations. As we mourn his loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the love he gave so freely. His spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to live with kindness, honor, and a generous heart. A celebration of Dino's life will be held at a date to be announced, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved. Until we meet again, may Dino rest in eternal peace.
