Vida Nana Adwoa Marfoah Darko
March 31, 1980 — May 29, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and yet a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Vida Nana Adwoa Marfoah Darko, who departed this world on May 29, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 31, 1980, Vida's journey was marked by love, resilience, and an unyielding dedication to her family and community.
Vida was the cherished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darko, who instilled in her the values of compassion, strength, and humility. These values shone brightly throughout her life and were most evident in her role as a devoted mother to her two sons, Kevin Boakye and Nathan Boakye. Vida's love for Kevin and Nathan was boundless, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their well-being and happiness, nurturing them to become the remarkable young men they are today.
In addition to her sons, Vida is survived by her loving mother, Felicia Ago Darko, who resides in Virginia, USA. Her siblings, each of whom she held dear, include brothers Ernest Addi of Connecticut, USA, and Eric Darko of Kumasi, Ghana, as well as sisters Edith Kesewa Darko Agyei of Connecticut, USA, and Irene Georgina Addy of Tema, Ghana. Vida's family was her fortress, and she treasured every moment shared with them.
Vida's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her community. She was an active member of the Latter Day Saints Church, where she found solace and strength in her spiritual journey. Her faith was a beacon for those who knew her, providing comfort and guidance even in the most challenging times.
A celebration of Vida's life will take place on June 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Latter Day Saints Church, located at 2727 Centreville Rd., Herndon, VA 20171. We invite all who knew and loved Vida to join us as we honor her memory and the indelible mark she left on our hearts.
In a special message from the family, they express, "Damirifa! due! Damirifa! due! Damirifa due!, due ne amanehunu! Adwoa Marfoah Darko." These words, rich in tradition and emotion, convey a heartfelt farewell to a remarkable woman whose spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we bid farewell to Vida, let us remember her for the warmth of her smile, the depth of her kindness, and the strength of her spirit. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her legacy of love and compassion will endure in the lives she touched. Rest in perfect peace, dear Vida. Your journey may have ended, but your spirit lives on in our hearts forever.
