Victoria A Yale
June 2, 1950 — June 2, 2026
Victoria A. Yale, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 2, 2026, at Elmbrook Village, the place she called home. Her passing marks the culmination of a beautiful journey that began on June 2, 1950, in Norwich, Connecticut. Born to Helen (Sumoski) and Julian Arpin, Victoria's life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and enduring love.
Victoria's early years were spent in Norwich, where she developed a love for learning and creativity that would carry her throughout her life. She graduated from NFA High School in 1968, an achievement she was immensely proud of. Shortly after, she embarked on a career with SNET, starting as an operator and, through dedication and hard work, retiring as an engineering aid. Her colleagues remembered her not only for her professional excellence but also for her warm smile and compassionate nature.
Victoria was predeceased by her beloved husband, David B. Yale, whose love and partnership she cherished deeply. She also mourned the loss of her brother-in-law, Artie, and sister-in-law, Marjory, with whom she shared many cherished memories.
Despite these losses, Victoria's heart remained full through the joy and love of her surviving family. Her sons, Jack (Sarah) Darras of Quaker Hill and Jeffrey (Kim) Darras of Vero Beach, Florida, were her pride and joy. She was a loving and devoted mother who taught them the values of kindness, perseverance, and love.
Victoria's legacy is carried forward by her two sisters, Paulette and Charlene, who were her lifelong confidantes and friends. Her family tree blossomed with four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and unparalleled skill in crafting.
A master of all things creative, Victoria found joy and expression in baking, cake decorating, cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, and cross-stitching. Her creations were not just hobbies but reflections of her heart, each piece crafted with love and care. She was a woman who found beauty in every stitch and flavor in every recipe.
Victoria's adventurous spirit led her to travel to many beautiful places, including the serene shores of Bermuda, the tropical beauty of Hawaii, the vibrant landscapes of California, and the sunny beaches of Florida. She cherished these travels and the memories they provided, often sharing stories of her journeys with loved ones.
Her family shares this special message: Victoria will be laid to rest at Jordan Cemetery. Her life will be celebrated privately by family, in a manner befitting the quiet dignity with which she lived.
Victoria A. Yale was a beacon of love and creativity, touching the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of kindness, artistry, and enduring love, a legacy that will be cherished by her family and friends forever. As we bid farewell, we hold her memory close, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
