In Loving Memory of Victor Lamar Pitts
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Lamar Pitts, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this world on April 19, 2026, at the age of 69. Victor's journey on this earth began on November 27, 1956, in the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born to Marion Pitts. Throughout his life, Victor embodied the spirit of resilience, love, and generosity, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Victor's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. In his earlier years, he made his mark as a skilled landscaper in Roswell, Georgia, where his artistry turned ordinary spaces into lush, green havens. Later, he brought his unwavering work ethic to Georgia Power in Atlanta, Georgia, where he contributed to the community's well-being with diligence and pride.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Victor was a man of many passions. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of swimming, bike riding, and dancing. Music, too, was a cherished part of his life. From 2004 to 2014, he was a devoted member of the choir at Life Changing Walk of Faith Church in East Point, Georgia. In his later years, Victor's spiritual journey led him to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he immersed himself in studying and exploring the teachings of the Bible.
Victor's generous spirit was boundless. Known for his down-to-earth attitude and remarkable kindness, he selflessly gave to various organizations worldwide, leaving a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. His family and friends will forever remember him as a beacon of love and warmth, someone who was always ready with an encouraging word and a helping hand.
Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Mrs. Kimberly Harris Pitts, who stood by his side through life's trials and triumphs. His legacy lives on through his children: daughters Nina Price of Terrell, Texas, and Victoria Holman, and son Deion Holman, both of Atlanta, Georgia. Victor's family tree extends further, encompassing cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will carry his memory forward with love and reverence.
A memorial service to celebrate Victor's extraordinary life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, located at 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, Georgia 30034. The Pitts family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Grady Hospital and the hospice team at Southern Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care during Victor's final moments. They also express their appreciation for the comforting words, prayers, and support received from friends and loved ones.
In this time of mourning, the family finds solace in the words of Psalm 23, a reminder of the eternal peace and guidance bestowed by the Lord. As we celebrate Victor's life, we remember him as a man whose presence enriched the world and whose spirit will forever dwell in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Victor Lamar Pitts. You will always be loved, missed, and never forgotten.
