April 28, 1953 — May 20, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Vicky Smith, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 20, 2026. Vicky's journey began on April 28, 1953, in the picturesque landscapes of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, where she was born to Mamie and Robert Grissom. Her life was a tapestry of vibrant experiences, sewn with threads of love, resilience, and an indomitable spirit. Vicky was known for her fiery personality—she was tiny but fierce, a true testament to the adage that great things come in small packages. Her presence was a force of nature; she had the remarkable ability to light up any room with her infectious laughter and spirited conversations. Those who had the privilege of knowing her were touched by her warmth and unwavering loyalty. A devoted mother to her beloved daughters, Sarah and Amy, Vicky was the cornerstone of her family. Her love for them was boundless, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and the lives they built. Her role as a grandmother brought her unparalleled joy, and she delighted in spending time with her three grandchildren—Ava, Chloe, and Jack. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she cherished every moment she spent with them, whether it was playing at the park or sharing stories over a home-cooked meal. Vicky had a passion for gardening, where she found solace and joy among the blooms and greenery. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she nurtured life with as much care as she bestowed upon her loved ones. She was also an accomplished cook, often delighting family and friends with her culinary creations, especially during the holiday season when she reveled in attending holiday bazaars, soaking up the festive spirit and sharing it with those around her. Vicky Smith's legacy is one of love, strength, and an unyielding zest for life. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Sarah and Amy, and her grandchildren, Ava, Chloe, and Jack. She leaves behind a lasting imprint on their hearts and the hearts of all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Vicky's life and legacy. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she loved. Vicky's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have shared their condolences and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Vicky's love for nature, the family requests that donations be made to a local gardening charity or community garden in her memory. As we say goodbye to Vicky, let us celebrate the vibrant, fierce, and loving soul that she was, and let her memory be a beacon of light in our lives, reminding us to embrace each day with the same passion and tenacity that she did.
