In loving memory of Vicky Addington, who passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 71. Vicky was born on May 1, 1955, in the charming town of Ardmore, Oklahoma, to her beloved parents, Paul and Betty Gay. She was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Vicky's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the power of kindness. A proud graduate of Wilson High School in May 1973, Vicky carried the values instilled in her by her parents into every aspect of her life. Her commitment to her work and her community was most evident during her 25-year career at the Ardmore Walmart Supercenter, where she served as a cashier and later as a customer service manager. Her easy-going nature and friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure among colleagues and customers alike. Vicky had a remarkable ability to turn everyday interactions into meaningful connections, consistently going above and beyond to help others whenever they needed it.
Her kindness extended beyond her professional life into her personal relationships. Vicky was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Betty Gay, and her cherished son, Alan Addington. Despite these profound losses, she remained a source of strength and love for her surviving family members. Her daughter, Sheila Miller, carries forward her mother's legacy of compassion and resilience. Vicky's sisters, Paula Burris and Linda Neal, were not only family but lifelong friends and confidantes who shared countless memories filled with laughter and love.
Vicky's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, kindness, and service to others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched and continues to inspire her family and friends to embody her spirit of generosity and warmth. She taught us all that true strength is found in compassion, and true happiness is found in the service of others.
As we gather to celebrate Vicky's life, we remember her not only for her professional accomplishments and family devotion but also for her unwavering spirit and her ability to find joy in the simple, everyday moments. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may her spirit inspire us to live with the same grace and kindness that she embodied every day of her life.
A service celebrating Vicky's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor her remarkable journey and the love she shared so generously. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity close to Vicky's heart, continuing her legacy of helping those in need.
