Vickie Sherlene Weaver

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vickie Sherlene Weaver, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, on August 8, 2026. Vickie departed this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, just a few weeks shy of her 74th birthday. Her journey began on August 31, 1952, in Oklahoma City, where she was born to Raymond and Estelle Mae Wright. Vickie's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. She grew up in a household filled with warmth and compassion, values that she carried with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond Wright, in 1969, and her mother, Estelle Mae Wright, in 2013. Their loving spirit lived on through Vickie, whose own life was a beacon of kindness and strength. On December 19, 1970, Vickie married her high school sweetheart, Marty Weaver, at the Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Together, they built a beautiful life over their 55 years of marriage, rooted deeply in faith, love, and mutual respect. Their union was blessed with a son, Brian Shane Weaver, who was the apple of her eye and her pride and joy. Vickie dedicated much of her life to her family as a devoted housewife, creating a warm and welcoming home where laughter and love were in abundance. Her career path also led her to various roles, including a memorable stint at IHOP, where her kindness and work ethic endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. Her work, whether at home or outside, was always infused with a spirit of generosity and commitment. An active member of the First Baptist Church in Mustang, Oklahoma, Vickie's faith was a guiding light in her life. She found great joy in serving her community and church, where she was known for her unwavering faith and her gentle, caring nature. Vickie's hands were never idle. She found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in her love of sewing and working outside. Her gardens were a testament to her nurturing spirit, and her sewing projects, crafted with love, were cherished by family and friends. Vickie leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her husband, Marty, her son, Brian, and a community of friends and family who were privileged to know her, will continue to cherish her memory. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love and service, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of Vickie Sherlene Weaver's life will be held at First Baptist Church in Mustang, Oklahoma, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Vickie's honor, reflecting her generous heart and her spirit of giving. Though she may have left this earthly realm, Vickie's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire and guide us. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her light lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
