She is survived by her cherished children: Jana Carter, Angel Lewis, Jessica Sinclair, and Josh Barrow, Her legacy extends through her beloved grandchildren, Jadrianna,Phillip Jr, Alyssa, Amiya, Javin, Phallon and Alexis, and two great-grandchildren, Kaizen and Enzo who all carry forward her memory.
Professionally, Vickie dedicated many years to the compassionate field of nursing, serving as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in various hospitals and nursing homes. Her gentle touch and caring nature provided comfort to countless patients and families, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and empathy within the healthcare community.
Vickie was a free spirit, a characteristic that defined her every action and decision. She embraced life with an open heart, undeterred by the opinions of others, and forever true to herself. Her love for Coca-Cola was legendary, and her collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia was a testament to her passion for life's simple pleasures. The color purple and heart motifs were among her favorites, symbolizing her vibrant personality and boundless love for those around her.
In her personal life, Vickie was preceded in death by the love of her life Jimmy Barrow and her beloved parents, Oleta Daniels and Charles Carter, whose memories she held dear. Their influence, coupled with her free-spirited nature, shaped the remarkable woman she became—a woman who lived fully and loved wholeheartedly.
A celebration of Vickie's life will be held on April 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Girdner Funeral Home, located at 141 Elm St, Abilene, TX 79602. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join in honoring her memory, sharing stories, and remembering the joy she brought into the world.
