Vicki Jeanne Babinat

Vicki Jeanne Babinat, a beacon of love, laughter, and compassion, was born on October 5, 1946, in Clearfield, Iowa. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2026, with her beloved husband Gregory by her side, surrounded by family and enveloped in love. Vicki’s journey to Glory was as she had always hoped, breathing new air and finding it Celestial, waking up in Glory and finding it Home. The cherished daughter of Kenneth and Donna Brumfield, Vicki was deeply connected to her family roots. Her father, Kenneth Brumfield Sr., and her brother, Kenneth Brumfield Jr., preceded her in death, as did her sister-in-law, Nancy Brumfield. She was also preceded by her in-laws, Edward and Rose Babinat; brother-in-law, Mark Babinat; sister-in-law, Evelyn Reiser; brother-in-law, Kevin Sturtz; and three grandchildren, Brianne, Lukas, and Nicholas Santana. Vicki leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted husband of 48 years, Gregory Babinat, and her mother, Donna Brumfield, who continues to bless the family at 103 years of age. Her memory lives on in her children: Scott Babinat and his former wife Jennifer, along with their children Justina Proehl, Jacqueline Hansen, and Jamie Figueroa; Barbara Santana and her husband Luis with their daughters Victoria Wilson and Karissa Santana; and Leslie Wells and her husband Rodney with their daughters Hannah Altstatt, Sarah Wells, and Leah Halbert. Vicki was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 9, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. A graduate of Norwalk High School in Iowa and Marshalltown Community College, Vicki dedicated herself to a variety of professions, including roles as a daycare owner and operator, receptionist, bank teller, and dispatcher. Her career path reflected her nurturing spirit and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Vicki was an active and cherished member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church for 24 years, where she sang in the choir, participated in the Women’s Bible Study, and joyfully assisted with Vacation Bible School. Together with Gregory, she enriched lives by teaching a Sunday School class for individuals with intellectual disabilities during their time in Iowa. Her creativity flourished in her hobbies, which included crafting beautiful jewelry and knitting blankets, and she found joy in music and drama, both in church and community theater. Her quick wit, warm smile, and gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued left a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, and she was known for teaching that “sometimes you just have to do hard things,” a lesson that continues to inspire her family and friends. A service to honor Vicki's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grove Avenue Baptist Church, located at 8701 Ridge Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vicki Babinat's Memorial Fund in her memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time. May Vicki's memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
