Veverly Williams

Veverly Williams, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully went to be with her Lord on November 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 16, 1952, in Oakland, California, Veverly was a beacon of love, strength, and truth to all who had the honor of knowing her. Veverly was the cherished daughter of Rachel and Willie Stephenson. She graduated from Fremont High in Oakland, California, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and community. In 1970, she embarked on a remarkable 47-year career at the Social Security Administration, where she was known for her unwavering dedication and compassionate spirit until her health no longer permitted. On September 2, 1970, Veverly married the love of her life, Roman Williams. Together, they built a beautiful family, celebrating 48 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. Veverly was the proud mother of two daughters, Denys and Ramona, and was blessed with 13 grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found immense happiness in nurturing and guiding them. A faithful and active member of True Vine Ministry, Veverly's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She took great pleasure in directing life-changing Bible studies, where her wisdom and guidance touched countless lives. Her deep love for her community and her unwavering commitment to helping others was a testament to her strong, truthful, and loving nature. Veverly is survived by her devoted husband, Roman; her daughters, Denys and Ramona; her 13 grandchildren; her six siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Her presence in their lives was a gift that will be cherished forever. In honoring Veverly’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their thoughtful words, visits, and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Veverly Williams. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
