It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Vernon Fleming, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Vernon departed this life peacefully at home on February 1, 2024, surrounded by the love and support of his family. He was 64 years old. Born on October 28, 1959, in the vibrant borough of the Bronx, New York, Vernon was the cherished son of Marie and John Fleming, who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Shariece Fleming, and his two devoted sons, Vernon and Victor Fleming. Vernon was a man of great warmth and kindness, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Vernon's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and a tireless work ethic. He graduated from Bronx Community College in 1995, an accomplishment that set the stage for a long and successful career with the New York City Housing Authority. Over his 25 years of service, he touched the lives of many, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and community members alike. After retiring, Vernon embraced a new chapter in Miami, Florida, where he continued to share his wisdom and kindness with those around him. In 1992, Vernon married the love of his life, Shariece, on June 14th. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning 32 beautiful years. Together, they raised two sons, Vernon and Victor, instilling in them the values of integrity, compassion, and hard work. Vernon was a devoted father, always present with guidance and support. Vernon's legacy is carried forward by his surviving family members: his loving wife of 27 years, Sharice Fleming, and his cherished children, Vernon Fleming and Victor Fleming. He also leaves behind a treasured grandson, Jaden Fleming, who brought immense joy to his later years. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the memories we shared with Vernon. He was a beacon of love and positivity, a man whose presence illuminated the lives of those he encountered. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering kindness will be dearly missed. A service to celebrate Vernon's life will be held on February 10, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Edgley Cremation Services, located at 4128 Westroads Drive, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join us in honoring and remembering a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Vernon's memory, reflecting his spirit of generosity and compassion.
