VERLINE G FAULKNER
December 3, 1949 — April 6, 2026
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Verline G. Faulkner, who gently departed this world on April 6, 2026, at Desota Baptist Hospital. Born on December 31, 1949, in Senatobia, MS, Verline lived a life full of love, devotion, and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
Verline was the beloved daughter of Stonewall Jackson Gardner and Arrelia A. Gardner, who preceded her in death. She carries forward their legacy of strength and warmth, which now resonates within her surviving family members. Verline is lovingly remembered by her dear son, Wrennie Gardner, who was a devoted presence by her side. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Gardner (Angelica), and her three sisters, Jerline G. Montgomery (Freddie), Lillie M. Taylor, Mary Ellen Arrington, along with Beatrice Jones and Mary Pope (husband). Her sister Lizzie Black and a very dear friend, Dorthy Wren, as well as a very special niece, Bobby Moore, join in mourning her loss.
In the tapestry of Verline's life, family was her most treasured thread. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the testament to her nurturing spirit.
Verline dedicated over 20 years of her life to working as a custodian and bus driver, roles through which she quietly and steadfastly served her community. Her enduring faith was evident in her early confession of hope in Christ, which guided her steps and grounded her heart throughout her journey. She was a devoted member of the West Looxahoma Church of Christ, where she worshipped with unwavering faith until her final days.
Verline's warmth extended beyond her family and faith. She was known for her generosity, especially in the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared meals for family gatherings until she was no longer able. Her spirit of hospitality and care enveloped all who sat at her table.
Her service will be held on April 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the West Looxahoma Church of Christ. It will be a time to celebrate her life, honor her memory, and find solace in the community she cherished so dearly.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers, Nellie Price and her devoted son, Wrennie Gardner, for their unwavering support and care.
Verline G. Faulkner will forever be remembered for her love, faith, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her, as she now rests in eternal peace.
