Vera Ann Zaman

September 13, 1941 — July 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vera Ann Zaman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on July 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Vera passed away peacefully. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a life beautifully lived. Born in Dallas, Texas, on September 13, 1941, Vera was the cherished daughter of the late Gertrude (John) Summerfield and the late Walter Bruchsaler. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Frank Bruchsaler, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Vera's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and devotion. On December 21, 1984, she married the love of her life, Mohammed Zaman. Together, they shared 41 wonderful years, creating a life filled with cherished memories and a home that was an oasis of love. Their son, Qumar, was the light of her life, and her pride in him knew no bounds. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family. Vera was a caring mother to her children — Qumar, Nathasha (Pedro) Sabeeh-Sanchez, Abid (Hosai) Sabeeh, Vasif (Julie) Sabeeh, and four stepchildren. She embraced each of them with open arms and an open heart. As a grandmother to six, she found immense joy in watching her grandchildren grow, always present to celebrate their achievements and offer her unwavering support. Vera's warmth and compassion were evident in the friendships she cultivated throughout her life. She loved nothing more than spending time in conversation with friends, sharing stories and laughter. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where she delighted in cooking meals that brought people together and nourished the soul. A woman of deep generosity, Vera was always involved in the lives of those around her, offering her time and energy to ensure everyone felt valued and loved. Her legacy of love and friendship will live on through the countless lives she touched. Vera's family invites those who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Vera's generous spirit. As we say goodbye to Vera, we remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the many ways she enriched our lives. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
