It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Venzola Hardy-Jones, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on August 23, 2026. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 13, 1960, Venzola was a beacon of love, compassion, and resilience, touching all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Venzola was the beloved daughter of Matthew Hardy and Gwendolyn Hardy-Jones. She was predeceased by her children, Jazmin Jones, Harry Coats, Pierre Hardy, and Monica Hardy-Jones, and she now joins them in eternal peace. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue through her surviving children: Jasmin Jones, Monica Hardy-Jones, Harry Coats, and Pierre Hardy. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In 1987, Venzola married her devoted husband, Henry Jones, in Memphis, Tennessee. Together, they built a nurturing home in Birmingham, Alabama, where they raised their family. Venzola's career as a registered nurse was marked by her unwavering dedication to caring for others. As a professional caregiver, she worked at Princeton Hospital for 15 years, tirelessly serving her community with compassion and skill. Her love for her profession was evident to all who met her, as she was known for her gentle nature and her ability to connect with people, especially children.
Venzola's educational journey began at Hueytown High School, followed by her studies at Lawson State Community College, where she earned her R.N. license and CNA certificate. She furthered her education at Miles College, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. Her thirst for knowledge and commitment to personal growth were matched only by her unwavering faith in God.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Venzola was a woman of strong faith who attended services every Sunday and ensured her children participated in Bible Study on Wednesdays. Her spirituality and belief in God's plan provided her strength and solace throughout her life.
Venzola's life was enriched by simple joys, such as cooking and baking for her family. Sunday dinners were a cherished tradition, and she believed in the power of family gatherings to strengthen bonds. Her positive outlook on life, even in challenging times, was an inspiration to all who knew her. She believed that God guided her path and always found a reason to smile.
A celebration of Venzola's life will be held on September 5, 2026, at 1:01 PM at Faith Memorial Chapel, located at 600 9th Ave N, Bessemer, AL 35020. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Venzola's memory.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. They find comfort in knowing that Venzola is now in the arms of the Lord and are thankful for the calls, prayers, and words of condolence received from friends and family.
