Celebrating the life of Velma Freeman, who was born on October 28, 1944, in the close-knit community of Aransas Pass, Texas. Velma's journey with us concluded peacefully on July 30, 2026. Her life was marked by a deep love for her family, a joy for life that was infectious, and an unwavering presence that brightened any room she entered. Velma was the cherished daughter of Betty and Leslie Freeman, who preceded her in passing. She was also reunited with her beloved son, Leslie Vaden, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart. Velma's legacy of love and laughter lives on through her devoted daughter, Betty Vaden, and her grandchildren, Leeann Techur, Kayla Brown, and Phillip Glud. Velma took immense pride in her seven great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jayce, and Jaylen Techur; Katherine, Kadence, and Kayslynn Staley; and Finley Glud. Each one was a testament to her enduring influence and boundless affection. Having spent her entire life in her birthplace, Velma was a constant in Aransas Pass, where she was known for her humor and the joy she brought to those around her. Her laughter was a gift, her smile a beacon, and her love a comfort to all who knew her. Velma's life was a tapestry woven with moments spent cherishing her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her presence was a source of amusement and joy, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved. In keeping with Velma's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Velma's memory are encouraged to make donations to a charity of their choice, reflecting her spirit of giving and kindness. Velma Freeman will be remembered not just for the years she lived, but for the love she shared, the laughter she spread, and the enduring impact she had on her family and friends. Her memory will forever be a source of warmth and inspiration.
