Born on November 18, 1949, in the quaint village of Gelu, Romania, Velco was the cherished son of Paia and Anca Brancov. From his humble beginnings, Velco grew into a man whose strength and kindness touched everyone around him. Velco's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. On June 25, 1971, he married his soulmate, Elena, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Their 55-year union was blessed with two wonderful children, daughter Biliana Doney and her husband William, and son Paul Brancov and his wife Joelle. Velco's heart expanded further with the joy of his three cherished grandsons, Ian Riley, Benjamin Doney, and Brady Doney, who brought immense pride and happiness into his life. Velco was predeceased by his loving parents, Paia and Anca, as well as his brother, Gioca, with whom he shared a deep bond. He is survived by his devoted wife Elena, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, and his cousin Eli Peich, who shared many treasured moments with him. Throughout his career, Velco worked diligently at William Grant & Sons as a form lift operator, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. A dedicated worker, he retired after many years of service, leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication. Outside of work, Velco's passions were as vibrant as his spirit. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, whether fishing by a tranquil lake or hunting in the early morning light. His love for baseball, particularly watching his grandsons play, was only rivaled by his unwavering support for the New York Yankees. These hobbies were not just pastimes; they were moments of profound connection with his family and friends. Velco will be remembered for his boundless love for his family. He was the heart of his family, a pillar of strength who would selflessly do anything for those he loved. His kindness, generosity, and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
