Born on May 3, 2016, in Des Moines, Iowa, Veda was a beacon of joy and love, whose presence illuminated the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Veda was the cherished daughter of Quan-Nasia Teeaira Jones and Stephon Wise Flood, and the treasured stepdaughter of Trevaris Hicks. Her family was her world, and she was their sunshine, bringing warmth and light to even the cloudiest of days. Veda joins her great-grandparents, Willie T. Tolbert and Clifton D. Tolbert, in eternal peace, where her laughter will undoubtedly echo through the heavens. Educated within the Albany City School District, Veda attended Henry Johnson Charter School, where her teachers and classmates fondly remember her as a bright and eager learner. Her intelligence and curiosity were matched only by her kindness and her sweet, gentle heart. Veda's enthusiasm for learning was infectious, inspiring those around her to explore the world with the same wonder and excitement. A budding artist, Veda had a natural gift for drawing, creating fantastical worlds and characters with her vivid imagination. Her artistic talents were evident, and she often expressed her dreams of one day becoming an artist and a veterinarian, a testament to her love for both creativity and animals. Veda's playful spirit shone brightly as she enjoyed countless hours playing Roblox and watching YouTube videos with her siblings Nay-Mia Tolbert and Trevaris Hicks Jr, moments of shared joy and laughter that will be eternally cherished. Veda's love extended to her furry companion, her beloved cat, with whom she shared countless adventures and tender moments. Her gentle nature and compassion for animals were as boundless as her dreams, and she nurtured each creature with the same love and care she gave to those around her. Though her time with us was far too brief, Veda's impact was immeasurable. Her family, friends, and community will forever remember her as a vibrant, loving soul who touched their lives with her warmth and light. A service in honor of Veda Marie’ Flood will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to remember and cherish the precious moments shared with this extraordinary child.
