On May 12, 2026, heaven gained an extraordinary soul, as VCB, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, VCB embodied the love and warmth that her birthdate signifies. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and resilience. VCB was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Betty Lou Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert (Bernard) Hampton, her sister Elizabeth Cooper, her daughter Taminka Buggs, and her cherished nephew and niece, Robert White IV and Tarshonda Cooper. Though her departure leaves a profound void, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who survive her. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert Buggs Jr., and her granddaughter, Virginia (Brionne) Hayes, who both brought immense pride and joy to her life. Her sisters, Delois (James) Wilson, Alfreda (Neil Blanchard), Patricia (Reginald) Burton, and Debra (Ronald) Webb, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends, mourn her passing while celebrating the vibrant life she led. A graduate of “Tech” High School, VCB ventured into the medical field, dedicating many years to Baptist Hospital, where she cared for patients with compassion and dedication. Her nurturing spirit also found expression in her role as an instructor at a local daycare, where she shaped young minds with love and patience. In her later years, she embraced a career in retail, where her stylish ways and fun personality endeared her to colleagues and customers alike. VCB was more than her career; she was a woman of many passions. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, always ready to light up a room with her beautiful smile and infectious spirit. Known as the life of the party, she had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and welcomed, leaving an indelible mark on those around her. Her kindness and generosity were boundless, and her stylish flair was admired by all who knew her. The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate VCB’s life at a service on May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Serenity Funeral and Cremation Home, located at 1622 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134. In this time of remembrance, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, hospice staff, and medical professionals who provided exceptional care and comfort to VCB in her final days. In the words of VCB, “Live life with love and laughter, and cherish every moment with those you hold dear.” May her spirit continue to inspire us to embrace life with the same joy and kindness she shared so generously with the world.
