January 2, 1954 — April 24, 2026

Vaneta Rae Harper, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 72, in the comforting presence of her family. Born on January 2, 1954, in the quaint town of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, Vaneta's life was a testament to resilience, creativity, and the boundless capacity of the human spirit to touch others. She lived with grace, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She was the cherished daughter of the late Delmar Moffitt and Evelyn Tabor, both of whom predeceased her. On July 17, 1981, she married the love of her life, Jay W. Harper II, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, surrounded by their four children: Jason Harper (Monica), Marietta Harper, Brian Harper (Christine), and J.W. Harper III. Her legacy of love extends to her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister, Lynda Klaes and brother, Christopher Moffitt, each of whom will forever carry a piece of her spirit. Vaneta's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, determination and a remarkable array of talents. Vaneta was a self-taught master of many crafts. Her hands brought beauty and function to the world through upholstery, vehicle restoration, and home remodeling. She embraced modernity with ease, teaching herself computer literacy—a testament to her unyielding curiosity and intellect. In the later years of her life, Vaneta found solace and joy in the world of art, where she became proficient in oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Her paintings, like her life, were vibrant, expressive, and full of depth. Vaneta was a devout Christian, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength were rooted in her spiritual beliefs, which she carried with grace and humility. She was a nurturing presence, offering guidance and support to her family and friends. Though Vaneta has left this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her life was a testament to the beauty of creativity, the strength of family, and the power of love. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A celebration of Vaneta's life will be held at a later date to be announced. Remembering and honoring a truly remarkable woman whose life was a mosaic of joy, love, and endless creativity.
