It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Vance Lionel Grayson, who left us far too soon on February 11, 2026, at the age of 32. Vance was born on April 19, 1993, in the picturesque town of Castlegar, British Columbia, where he made lifelong memories surrounded by the serene landscapes he cherished so dearly.
Vance was a kind-hearted soul who touched the lives of everyone he met with his infectious smile and generous spirit. He was a devoted son to his loving parents, Dale and Donna, who survive him, along with his cherished siblings, brothers Max and Jake, and his sister-in-law. Vance is also deeply mourned by his dear grandparents, his gran and grandad, as well as a close-knit circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom he held close to his heart.
A man of many passions, Vance found immense joy in the great outdoors. His love for fishing, rifle shooting, kayaking, and paddleboarding was well-known among his family and friends. Whether casting a line into a tranquil lake or paddling down a winding river, Vance found peace and adventure in nature, a testament to his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Vance was also a dedicated history buff with an insatiable curiosity about the past. His deep interest in history was not just a hobby but a source of wisdom and inspiration, which he generously shared with those around him. He had a unique talent for bringing stories of yesteryear to life, often captivating listeners with his knowledge and passion.
His sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of love and laughter will forever remain. Vance's memory will be cherished in the stories shared, the laughter recalled, and the love he gave so freely.
As we gather to remember and celebrate Vance's life, let us hold onto the joy he brought into our lives and the lessons he imparted through his passions and kindness. In honoring his memory, may we continue to find comfort in the beauty of the world around us, just as he did.
A memorial service to celebrate Vance's life will be held in Castlegar, BC, where family and friends will come together to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Vance's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generosity and love for helping others.
Vance Lionel Grayson will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear Vance, in the arms of the gentle winds and the embrace of the open waters you so loved.
