It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we remember Valera (DeeDee) Lowe, who passed away on July 5, 2026. Born on February 11, 1964, in Decatur, Georgia, DeeDee was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Ellis and BettyRuth Ellis, who cherished her deeply.
DeeDee's journey began in the vibrant community of Decatur, where she attended local schools and graduated from Decatur High School. Her education laid the foundation for a life filled with passion and dedication. She later embarked on a career with the Ford Company, where she worked tirelessly until her health no longer permitted. Throughout her life, she found immense joy in music and dancing, lovingly earning the nickname "Aunty Milkshake" among friends and family.
Valera was predeceased by her two beloved sons, Sequuntae and LeRobsian Lowe, whose memories she held close to her heart until her last days. She is survived by her cherished grandson, Limn Carter Lowe, and her treasured granddaughter, Heaven Kene, who will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter.
DeeDee's family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind her devoted siblings: Requna Co Haw, Carolyn Keshniro, Barbara Son Walsm, Audrey Lowe, Cynthia Zrue, and Helen Morales. They, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, will forever hold her memory close.
Her life was also graced by the presence of her dear aunt, Ms. Hizzle Maa Raunes, and her cherished brothers Alphenso Kome and Melryn Lorue, both of whom predeceased her along with Marin, Michael, and Anthony.
