Uganda Crutcher

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Uganda Crutcher, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who departed this life on July 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Uganda was born on February 20, 1973, in Athens, Alabama, to the late Lula Mae and Jack Thompson, and from her very first moments, she spread warmth and joy to all who knew her. Uganda was a woman of remarkable strength and grace, qualities that were evident throughout her life and especially during her final days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Mae and Jack Thompson, her beloved son, Jonathan Crutcher, and her dear brother, Hosea Thompson. Though our hearts are heavy with their loss, we find solace in the knowledge that they are reunited in peace. Uganda is survived by her four cherished children: Tavis Crutcher, Danielle Crutcher, Angelica Crutcher, and Dartavian Crutcher, who were the light of her life. She was a devoted and nurturing mother, always placing her family at the center of her world. Her legacy also lives on in her four treasured grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Uganda's siblings, Marcus Thompson and Tavares White, will forever remember her as a loving and supportive sister. Her extended family of aunties, cousins, and close friends feel the void of her passing deeply, as Uganda was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family. Known for her radiant smile and kind heart, Uganda's presence could light up any room. Her "Colgate smile," as many fondly referred to it, was a beacon of positivity and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. She was a compassionate soul, ever ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Uganda's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and her unwavering faith. Her resilience in the face of adversity and her ability to find joy in the little things were qualities that inspired all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will continue to guide her family and friends.
