Tyshaun Cox, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. Born on August 14, 1989, in Rochester, NY, Tyshaun was a beacon of strength, intelligence, and humor, whose life touched many.
Tyshaun was the cherished son of the late Lorna Simpson and William Nathan Cox. Respectfully raised by Willie Cox and Elizabeth Horne. He was predeceased by his mother Lorna Simpson, his grandfather Willie Cox and grandmother Elizabeth Horne. He is survived by his three children: Nathan (17), Asa (13), and Lorneliz (5). His siblings, Shydell (Monet) Simpson, Chamara (DeOndray) Warren, and William Nathan Cox Jr, along with his extended family and a host of close friends, will forever hold his memory dear.
A proud graduate of Bainbridge High School, class of 2008, Tyshaun was known for his quick wit and profound intelligence. His passion for technology was evident in his ability to build a computer by hand, showcasing his remarkable skills and curiosity. Tyshaun was employed as a trusted and faithful forklift driver and package handler at Wegmans for the last five years, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of his colleagues.
In his personal time, Tyshaun enjoyed gaming and watching body cam videos, often sharing a laugh about the folly of others with his sister. His sharp sense of humor and keen observations were appreciated by all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Tyshaun's life will be held on July 13, 2026, at 11:10 AM at Grace Unity, located at 986 Joseph Ave. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Tyshaun's memory and support each other in this time of loss.
The Cox family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Highland Hospital for their compassionate care and support, the staff members at GL Dixon Funeral Home, Florist Fioravanti, Richard Colling for the casket wrap, Ché Hagins for the haircut provided, Grove Place Cemetery, and all family and friends who have assisted with the arrangements.
