It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tyrone Dixon, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, who departed from this world on October 14, 2026, after a sudden illness. Tyrone was born on December 24, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, a vibrant city that nurtured his lively spirit and charming wit.
Tyrone was the son of Ernest and Annie Dixon, who have since passed, along with his brothers Ernest Jr. and Michael, sisters Shanna and Deloris, his dearly loved wife Olga "Susie" Burton Dixon, and stepson Rodney. His surviving family includes his devoted son Tyrone Quinn and daughter-in-law Megan Quinn, who together blessed him with two adored grandchildren, Isaiah and Alana, and a great-grandson, Elijah Quinn. Tyrone is also survived by his brother Wayne Dixon and sister-in-law Rona, as well as his stepchildren Tynnetta and her husband Divine, Kaseem and his wife Chaquanna, and Tamela, who together brought him the joy of eleven step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Tyrone was a proud graduate of Boys and Girls High School, class of 1972, and went on to build a successful career, retiring from AC Nielsen company, and later working at Kings County Parking Garage as a parking attendant. His work ethic was admired by all who knew him, yet it was his personal qualities that truly left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Known for his quick wit and ever-present smile, Tyrone had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcomed. His kindness, generosity, and love for life were evident in every interaction, and he was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood.
An avid sports lover, Tyrone enjoyed the thrill of a good game and shared this passion with those close to him. He cherished the moments spent with family, creating memories filled with laughter and love. His home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, a testament to his generous spirit.
Tyrone's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, comforting words, and unwavering support during this difficult time. Your kindness, compassion, and thoughtful gestures have brought strength and encouragement to their hearts, and every expression of sympathy is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered. May God richly bless you for the love you have shared with us.
In accordance with the family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Tyrone's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Tyrone's memory are encouraged to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
