Tyree Warren Thomas
November 29, 1974 — July 23, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Tyree Warren Thomas, who left this world on July 23, 2026. Born on November 29, 1974, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, (South Philly) Tyree was a beacon of love, compassion, and dedication to all who knew him.
Tyree was the cherished son of the late Juanita and Michael Thomas. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Rockea, Antone, and Michael Lavon Sr., yet leaves behind a large and loving family to honor his memory. Tyree is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy, affectionately known as Gina, and their beloved children, Jeremiah and Terrell. His siblings, Christine, Michael Jr., Tawana, Emily, Sabrina, Kaliek, Alik Sr., Juanita, Virginia, Tia, and David, will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Tyree and Gina's love story began many years ago in the kitchen of the Philadelphia Airport Marriott, where their shared passion for cooking ignited a lifelong bond. On May 14, 2011, they wed in Philadelphia, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that spanned fifteen wonderful years. Together, they raised their sons and built a life filled with joy, adventure, and countless cherished memories.
Tyree's passion for cooking was evident in every aspect of his life. Throughout his career, he worked in various roles, from clothing stores to pizza shops, but it was in the kitchen where his heart truly flourished. Alongside Gina, he founded Trinity Caterers, a catering business that touched the lives of many through weddings, BBQs, school functions, and church banquets. In his enthusiasm, Tyree even catered his own wedding, a testament to his enduring love for the culinary arts.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Tyree was a devoted family man who spent every moment possible with his loved ones. Whether walking in nature parks with his boys, cheering on his beloved Eagles, or enjoying a movie with extra buttery popcorn, Tyree's joy was contagious. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—family, food, and sports.
Tyree's kindness knew no bounds. He was a man who would give you the last of anything he had, whether it was food, money, or even the clothes off his back. His compassion extended to all those around him, always striving to lift the spirits of others, even if it meant sharing a joke that wasn't quite funny just to see a smile.
A celebration of Tyree's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, located at 121 Ridge Ave, Darby, PA 19023. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all the friends and family who have offered support and love during this difficult time. Your kindness and appreciation for Tyree's life are profoundly valued.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tyree's memory to an organization of your choice that embodies his spirit of giving and compassion.
Though Tyree is no longer with us in body, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will forever be cherished.
