It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Twyla Mae Templeton, who peacefully left this world on March 3, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on May 20, 1964, in the close-knit community of Connersville, Indiana, Twyla spent her final days in the comfort of her home, enveloped in the love of her family after a courageous 30-day battle with liver disease. The cherished daughter of Virgal and Lavetta Jean Templeton, Twyla was a beacon of warmth and love in the lives of all who knew her. Her sisters, Sue and Diane Templeton, predeceased her, but she now joins them, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire her surviving family members. She is survived by her devoted sons, Justin Hurst and Crista Bruns of Connersville, and Daniel and Wendy Hurst of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Twyla's spirit and affection also live on through her beloved granddaughter, Candice Hurst of Gramby, Colorado. Her parents, Virgal and Lavetta, along with her brothers, Mike and Jeffrey Templeton, and numerous nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart, also survive her. Twyla's professional journey was marked by creativity and dedication. She began her career as a talented nail technician in Hamilton, Ohio, where she brightened her clients' days with her artistry and kindness. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own Home Interior Design and Painting Company, where she worked alongside her brothers, sons, and other family members. Twyla's work was a reflection of her vibrant personality and her ability to transform spaces with both color and love until her retirement in 1999. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Twyla was a woman of varied interests and immense talent. Her love for singing was a beautiful testament to her joyful spirit, and she found immense joy in sharing this gift with her family. Her culinary skills were celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to gather around her table, creating delicious meals that became the backdrop of countless cherished memories. Twyla's loyalty and infectious smile were hallmarks of her character, endearing her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devout Christian, she held her faith close to her heart, drawing strength and solace from her deep connection with the Lord. A celebration of Twyla's life will take place on March 6, 2026, at Miller, Moster, and Robbins in Connersville, Indiana. The service will begin with a visitation at 9:00 a.m., allowing friends and family to come together in remembrance of a life so beautifully lived. A graveside service, led by Pastor Ronnie Russell, will follow at Dale's Cemetery, where Twyla's spirit will be gently laid to rest. Twyla Mae Templeton was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, family, and faith. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones, and her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and joy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Twyla's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous and compassionate nature. May Twyla's soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy of love endure in the hearts of all she touched.
