With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Tuterrance Letrell Toney Sr., a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and esteemed friend, who departed this life on June 19, 2026, at the age of 46. His journey began on January 20, 1980, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, where he was born to the late Gloria Toney and Henry Toney. Tuterrance's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His nurturing spirit was a guiding light to many, casting warmth and kindness upon everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. A devoted husband, Tuterrance found his soulmate in Minister Melvia Anderson-Toney. Married on March 23, 2013, they shared a deep and abiding love, raising five children together in a household brimming with laughter, faith, and mutual respect. Tuterrance's legacy is carried forward by his loving wife, Melvia, and his seven children: Tuterrance L. Toney Jr., Tayquan Toney, Tuterrica Toney, Makaila Anderson, Kaneshia Cox, Chasity Collins, and Cameron Brooks. He was a doting grandfather to four grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his heart. His bond with his family extended to his six brothers: Lee Lindsey, Myron Toney, Jermaine Toney, Dexter Moore, Michael (Cicily) Pope, and Brandon (Kelicia) Pope, along with a vast and loving network of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and dear friends. Tuterrance faced life's challenges with courage and grace, notably bearing the loss of his cherished mother, Gloria, and his brother, Reginald. Despite these heartaches, he found strength in his family and community, offering support and counsel to all in need. His unexpected passing from a heart attack leaves a void that will be felt deeply by many. Tuterrance's spirit, however, remains a beacon of hope and love, inspiring those who knew him to live with compassion and integrity. A celebration of Tuterrance's life will take place on July 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at New El Bethel Baptist Church. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring his memory and celebrating a life well-lived. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in the legacy Tuterrance leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. May his soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love he so freely gave to others.
