June 28, 1951 — June 24, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Troy Ray Tadlock on June 24, 2026, just shy of his 75th birthday. Troy departed this world at UT East Texas Hospital in Tyler, Texas, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on June 28, 1951, in the quaint town of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Troy was the beloved son of Mary Elizabeth Hobbs. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary, and his sister, Lela Roberts, both of whom he cherished deeply and now joins in eternal rest. Troy was a proud graduate of Wright City High School, class of 1969. Not long after, he answered the call of duty, serving our nation with honor and distinction in both the US Marines and the US Army, including a courageous tour during the Vietnam War. His dedication and service to his country were a testament to his unwavering spirit and bravery. After his honorable discharge, Troy embraced life on the open road, embarking on a career as a truck driver. He found joy and freedom in traveling, often recounting tales from his cross-country road trips that painted vivid pictures of the landscapes and people he encountered. His passion for travel mirrored his love for life—expansive, adventurous, and full of heart. In December 2010, Troy married the love of his life, Carol Tadlock, in a warm and intimate ceremony in Canton, Texas. Together, they built a life full of love, companionship, and shared dreams. Carol was his steadfast partner, and the bond they shared was a beacon of love and devotion. Troy's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Carol, his children Tiffany Allen, LaTasha Dougherty, Bessie Jimenez, Galvin Conterez, Shane Tadlock, and Donald Hicks, Tim Elliott, Brandon Elliott and his cherished grandchildren Cheiley Fugate, Natalie Fast, Kylie Aiu, Isabelle Carig, Zoey Dougherty, Emma Dougherty, and Destiny Brown. He is also survived by his brother, Roy Hobbs, who held a special place in his heart. A man of many interests, Troy had a lifelong love for country music, often found tapping his feet along to his favorite tunes. His collections of watches and pocket knives were treasures that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. Above all, Troy was known for his kind and loving heart, touching the lives of those around him with his warmth and generosity. He was a devout Christian that loved the Lord and was a member of the Flint Baptist Church. A celebration of Troy's life will take place on July 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Bullard Memorial Cemetery, 550 S Dr M Roper Pkwy, Bullard, Texas 75757. Family and friends are welcome to join us as we honor and remember a life that was both full and fulfilling. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Troy's memory, as a tribute to his generous spirit and the causes he held dear. As we say goodbye to Troy Ray Tadlock, we hold onto the memories of his laughter, his stories, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
