July 19, 1974 — June 8, 2026

Troy Hatke, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 8, 2026, at the age of 51, after a courageous battle with a sudden illness. Born on July 19, 1974, in Lafayette, Indiana, Troy spent his life cultivating not only the land he loved but also the relationships and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. Troy was the cherished son of Joy Scott and the late Michael Hatke. His father, Michael, predeceased him, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that Troy carried forward in his own life. He is survived by his devoted mother, Joy Scott, and her husband, Doug Scott, whose unwavering support was a pillar of strength throughout Troy’s life. A proud graduate of Benton Central High School's Class of 1993, Troy pursued a life deeply rooted in the soil of Indiana as a self-employed farmer. His dedication to his work reflected the steadfast and nurturing nature he exhibited in all aspects of his life. His farmland was not only his place of business but also a sanctuary where he found peace and purpose. Troy was blessed with a loving family, including his son, Ethyn Hatke, and daughter-in-law, Amara Hatke, who were the joy of his life. His sisters, Trina Biggs and her husband Doug Biggs, and Tracy Beschel and her husband John Beschel, shared countless memories and a bond that time cannot diminish. He was a dear Uncle to his nieces and nephew, Ella Meredith, Emory Meredith, Liam Meredith, and Addie Meredith. Known for his quick wit and big heart, Troy brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. Whether he was snow skiing, water skiing, hunting, or traveling, Troy embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure that inspired those around him. The family invites all who knew and loved Troy to join them in celebrating his life on June 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Gerts, Windler and Keller Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, located at 506 E Main St, Fowler, IN 47944. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Liver Foundation in Troy's memory. The Hatke family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis for their compassionate care and support during Troy's illness. Their dedication provided comfort in a time of need and will always be remembered with deep appreciation. As we say goodbye to Troy, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and honor the legacy of kindness and love he leaves behind. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit and the memories he created will forever reside in our hearts.
