The world lost a beloved soul with the passing of Trinidad Tijerina on July 11, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on March 8, 1932, in the small town of Leal Community, Texas, Trinidad was a pillar of strength and love for her family and friends. She was the cherished daughter of Ines and Antonio Pacheco, and she carried forward their legacy of warmth and kindness throughout her life.
In April of 1948, Trinidad married the love of her life, Felix Tijerina Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family. Together, they nurtured a family that would grow to include their cherished children: Diana Valdez (married to Sotero Valdez), Consuelo Reyes (son in law Daniel Reyes), Felix Tijerina Jr., Doris Kimbrell (married to Steve Kimbrell) and adopted son Julio Olivarez. Trinidad's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, who include Natalia Ramirez (married to Samuel Ramirez), Christina Jimenez (married to Leon Jimenez), Kimberley Valdez, Felix Tijerina III (married to Melissa Tijerina), Angela Kimbrell, and Veronica Kimbrell, as well as her seven great grandchildren who brought her immense joy in her later years.
Trinidad was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Felix Tijerina Sr., her beloved son Ralph Tijerina, her precious granddaughter Felicia Tijerina, and her siblings Anita Rivas, Ralph Pacheco, Celestine Pacheco, Wenceslao Pacheco, Antonio Pacheco, Narciso Pacheco, Elvira Rosales, Maria Cortez, and Lydia Teneuque. She is survived by her loving siblings Julia Rodriguez and Joe Pacheco, who, along with her children and grandchildren, will carry her legacy forward with pride and affection.
Trinidad's life was a testament to resilience and love. A matriarch of great faith and compassion, she touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and comfort, where family and friends gathered on Worth street to create memories that will be cherished forever.
A rosary will be held at 6:00pm on July 16, 2026 with a visitation beginning at 5:00 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 7405 W Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. The Memorial Mass will be held July 17th at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas, TX with the burial following at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Trinidad's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful example of how one person can make a profound difference in the world, and she will be deeply missed by all.
