Born on August 21, 1988, in Queens, New York, Trina was a beacon of warmth and joy to all who knew her. Her life, though brief, was rich with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Trina was the cherished daughter of Magnolia Barber and the late James McAllister. She was raised with a deep sense of family and community, values that she carried with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her father, James, her sisters Ayisha and LaToya Barber, her grandparents Wyomer Barber and Cecil Solomon, and her beloved Aunt Juanita Barber.
The heart of Trina’s world was her family. She is survived by her devoted spouse, Keyshawn McPhee (Nine), who was her steadfast partner and the love of her life. Her legacy of love and generosity lives on in her surviving sisters Ebony, Mignone, Lakia Townes, Julia, and Jennifer Barber; Cindy Singleton; and her brothers Dominick, Kevin, and Melvin Singleton, as well as Michael Barber. Her nieces, Aaliyah and Aamiyah Bryant, will always remember her as a doting aunt whose laughter and stories brightened their days.
Trina’s extended family, including her aunts Almond, Jean, Carolyn Skinner, and Hazel Green, and her uncles James Green, Lonzy Barber, and Michael Barber, were an integral part of her life. She shared a unique bond with each of them, offering her unwavering support and infectious smile.
A proud alumna of Southern Vance High School in Henderson, NC, Trina was known for her dedication to her studies and her involvement in various school activities. She had a deep appreciation for music, which often served as a backdrop to her life’s many adventures. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, whether at a bustling holiday gathering or a quiet afternoon at the beach.
Traveling was another of Trina's passions. She delighted in exploring new places, meeting people, and learning about different cultures. Her adventurous spirit and curiosity about the world were truly inspiring to those around her.
Trina’s generosity knew no bounds. Her warm smile and kind heart were the very essence of her being, touching the lives of everyone she met. Whether offering a helping hand to a friend in need or volunteering in her community, Trina’s selfless nature was evident in all her actions.
Her close friend Latisha Alston, along with countless others, will forever cherish the memories of Trina’s laughter and the light she brought into their lives.
Though Trina did not have grandchildren, her nurturing spirit and love extended to all the younger members of her family, who will carry forward the values she instilled in them.
Trina Marie Barber’s life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her in return.
