It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Trey Phillips, who left this world on August 29, 2026. Born on September 20, 1986, in Springfield, MO, Trey was a beloved son, husband, brother, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched many lives.
Trey was the cherished son of Robert and Joy Phillips. From a young age, he exhibited a natural curiosity and an exceptional talent for creativity. Trey's artistic flair and passion for music provided him with powerful means of expression and connection with others. His gifts were not just in the arts but also in his ability to solve problems with ingenuity and grace. Trey's dedication to improvement and efficiency was evident in every task he undertook, always striving to make life a bit easier for everyone around him.
For 20 years, Trey was a dedicated and esteemed member of the Finney County family, serving as the GIS Coordinator. His colleagues remember him not only for his professional expertise and commitment but also for the warmth and kindness he brought to the workplace every day. His innovative contributions and generous spirit left an indelible mark on the community he served so faithfully.
Trey is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Mackenzie, who was his steadfast partner and greatest supporter. He also leaves behind his devoted parents, Robert and Joy Phillips; his siblings, Grace, Noah, Hope, Christian, Peace, Faith, and Micah; and his grandparents, Gladys Paasch and Bob Phillips. Trey's family was the center of his life, and he cherished each moment spent with them.
He is predeceased by his beloved grandmother, Betty Phillips, and grandfather, David Paasch, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
A service to celebrate Trey's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City, KS. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Trey are invited to join in remembering the joy and light he brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of their choice, honoring Trey's compassionate spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.
Trey Phillips will be remembered for his boundless generosity, his creative talents, and his unwavering love for his family and community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be profoundly missed.
