Trevor Davis Scherrer Sr.
September 10, 1942 — April 20, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trevor Davis Scherrer Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us on April 20, 2026, at the age of 83. Trevor passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of his cherished family.
Born on September 10, 1942, in East St. Louis, Illinois, Trevor was a beacon of kindness and strength to all who knew him. He was the beloved son of the late Robert Frank Scherrer and Rosalie May Louise Scherrer, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity.
In 1961, Trevor married the love of his life, Donna, in a ceremony held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their 65-year marriage was a testament to their unwavering love and commitment, a beautiful partnership that inspired everyone around them.
Trevor's career was spent at the Riviera Hotel and Casino, where he dedicated his professional life as a Table Games Supervisor until the casino's closure. His work ethic and leadership were admired by colleagues and friends, and he retired with fond memories and lasting friendships.
Outside of work, Trevor found joy in the great outdoors. Whether it was the thrill of hunting, the serenity of fishing, the adventure of camping, or the excitement of sand drags and gold prospecting, Trevor's passion for nature was infectious. These activities brought him immense joy and offered him numerous opportunities to create lasting memories with his family.
Trevor was a devoted family man, and his greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his dear wife, Donna, and their three loving children: Trevor Scherrer Jr. (KC), Teri Vergeils (Bob), and Tricia Beko (Barry). He was the adored grandfather to eight grandchildren: Tyler, Kourtney, Taylor, Brandon, Mackenzie, Chase, Tucker, and Brady, and a proud great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren: Tiegen, Stella, and Kennedy. Each of them carries forward his legacy of love, laughter, and warmth.
Trevor's life was a testament to the power of family and the beauty of nature. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone he met, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who had the fortune of knowing him.
In honoring Trevor's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Trevor's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting his lifelong dedication to helping others and making the world a better place.
Though Trevor has left this earth, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved. As we say goodbye, we find solace in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before him.
Rest in peace, Trevor. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
