With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Travis Johnson, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on January 22, 2026. Born on July 18, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, Travis was a beacon of warmth and joy, spreading light wherever he went. Travis was the beloved son of Clarence Jackson Jr. and Martha Ann Jackson, who predeceased him, leaving a legacy of love and resilience carried forward by his surviving sister, Nicole, and his beloved nephew, Christon, and nieces Nailah, Nakayla, and Nia. His extended family, along with countless friends, will remember him fondly and miss his gentle spirit. Travis's journey through life was marked by determination and optimism. He began his education at PS. 273 and continued through the district 75 middle school, culminating in his graduation from Sheepshead Bay High School. Despite life's challenges, Travis embraced every opportunity with courage and found support through the PDS program, where he worked diligently to meet his daily goals. A man of faith, Travis was nurtured spiritually at Saint Paul Community Baptist Church during his childhood and later found solace in a local church community in Coney Island. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through moments of joy and adversity alike. Travis was a man of many passions. He was an enthusiastic participant in the Special Olympics, proudly earning numerous medals and embodying the spirit of perseverance and dedication. His love for video games and wrestling was well-known among his friends and family, as was his fervent support for the New York Jets and baseball. These interests were not just hobbies but avenues through which he connected deeply with those around him. Travis shared a particularly close bond with his father, Clarence, often referring to him as his best friend. Their frequent conversations, sometimes daily, were a source of immense joy and comfort for Travis. He also held dear the cherished memories of his grandmother, Rose M. Johnson, who played a significant role in his life before her passing. A celebration of Travis's life will be held on March 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Lisa S. Dozier Funeral Service Inc., located at 2200 Clarendon Road, Brooklyn, NY 11226. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well lived and a soul that brought so much happiness to those fortunate enough to know him. In parting, his family shares this heartfelt message: "Like a star that fades from view but never from the sky, their light will always shine within us." As we bid farewell to Travis, we hold his memory close, inspired by the love he gave so freely and the joy he brought into our lives. His light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us through the days ahead.
