Trafton Owens Sr.

October 10, 1977 — October 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trafton Owens Sr., who left this world far too soon on October 8, 2026. Born on October 10, 1977, in the warm embrace of Alabama, Trafton brought light and kindness to all who knew him. His life was tragically shortened, but his spirit remains unbroken in the hearts of his loved ones. Trafton was the beloved son of Lonzo and a woman whose attempts at cooking rice became a cherished family anecdote. Growing up with a strong sense of duty and service, Trafton pursued his education at Albany State, which laid the foundation for his distinguished career in the military and government sector. His dedication and leadership shone brightly during his tenure as a Tutor Sergeant in the U.S. Army, where he earned the respect and admiration of his peers. In 1990, on the 6th of March, Trafton married the love of his life, Eboney. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Josiah and Trafton Jr., who were the pride and joy of their father's life. Though Trafton did not live to see grandchildren, his legacy and values will continue through his children. Beyond his professional achievements, Trafton was a man of simple joys. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace in the stillness of the water. His love for gaming was a testament to his playful and youthful spirit, a hobby he shared with his children and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Trafton's life will be held on November 17, 2026, at 14:25, at St. Margarets, located at 6315 Murray Ave. Family, friends, and those whose lives he touched are welcome to gather and remember the warmth and kindness that Trafton brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Trafton's memory to the African American Alzheimer's And Wellness Association, headquartered in Westerville, Ohio. This organization reflects Trafton's commitment to helping others and his enduring legacy of care and compassion. Trafton Owens Sr. will be forever in our hearts. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and the love he shared will continue to inspire those who were blessed to call him family and friend.
