Tracey Stuart

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Tracey Stuart, who departed this life peacefully on August 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with non-alcohol related liver disease. Born on November 5, 1960, in Texas City, Texas, Tracey was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Tracey was the cherished daughter of the late Chuck and Jan Stuart and the beloved sister to David Stuart and Julie Stuart Melchor and husband Dave Melchor. She also leaves behind her adored nephew Lewey Melchor (Briana), nieces Lily Melchor (Jacey), Kayla Stuart Vossler and husband Joseph, and Taylor Stuart and husband Luis Basurto. Tracey's love and legacy continue through her great-niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Jackson Vossler. Her family circle extended to her aunts Janet Stuart and Carolyn Stuart of Oregon, her uncle Ralph Stuart and wife Janet of Washington, and her aunt Babs Medley of Dickinson, Texas and numerous cousins and their families. Tracey was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Jan; grandparents Samuel and Mary Stuart, and Dave and Lil Roach and her uncle and aunt, Jim and Lynette Roach. A proud graduate of Texas City High School in the class of 1979, Tracey embarked on a fulfilling 30-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, which later became AT&T. Starting as an Information Operator on August 11, 1980, she became a trusted colleague and friend to many. Her dedication and warmth fostered lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply. Beyond her professional achievements, Tracey found joy in the pages of books and the challenge of crossword puzzles and word searches, her mind ever-curious and seeking knowledge. Her sharp wit and generous nature made her a joy to be around, and her kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered. Tracey's presence in our lives was a gift, her spirit a guiding light. As we mourn her departure, we also celebrate the love and joy she brought into the world. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered, a very special person whose grace and laughter will echo in our hearts.
