Tonya S. Jolly

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tonya, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and devoted member of her community. Born on September 25, 1950, in Dayton, Tonya brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her 76 years of life. She passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by the love of her family. Tonya was the treasured daughter of John E. Grissom Jr and Mary J. Grissom, who have both preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted children, Heather Jolly and Robert Jolly, who were the lights of her life. Tonya also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she adored deeply. A proud graduate of Fairborn High School in 1968, Tonya furthered her education at Modina's Beauty College in Fairborn, where she honed her skills and cultivated her passion for beauty and style. Her career as an "Avon Lady" spanned over five decades, through which she built lasting friendships and brightened the lives of her clients with her charming personality and dedication. In her early years, she worked in a wig shop and later explored her talents in phone sales across various companies. Tonya had a zest for life and a profound love for her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and took great pleasure in fishing and relaxing at Indian Lake. Her vivacious spirit and genuine love for people made her a "people person" in the truest sense. Tonya's unwavering faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life, offering her strength and comfort. A celebration of Tonya's life will be held on October 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Fairfield Cemetery, located at 720 Clover St., Fairborn, Ohio 45324. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tonya's memory to Samaritan's Purse, an organization whose mission and values align with her own. Samaritan's Purse is located in Boone, North Carolina, USA. Tonya's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
