It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tonya Phillips, who departed from this world on June 14, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family and friends. Born on October 21, 1976, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tonya was a beacon of warmth and compassion, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Tonya was a devoted daughter to Gary Phillips and the late Beverly White. She was also cherished by her second mom, Mary Armenta, affectionately known as Kika, who predeceased her. Tonya's legacy of love and kindness continues to flourish through her surviving family: Nathan and Courtney Carriger, Falisha Armenta, Saul III and Syanna Armenta, her treasured grandchildren Kayden, Kaleb, Kamden, Langston, Kymberlin, and Saul Armenta IV. She is also survived by her father and stepmother, Gary and Margaret Phillips, her brother Troy and his wife Patty Phillips, sister Melissa Luna, brother Jerry Luna, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Tonya demonstrated an unwavering dedication to caring for others. Her career began as a waitress, where her friendly demeanor and radiant smile left a lasting impression on patrons and colleagues alike. Later, she found her true calling as a Home-Health Aide, providing compassionate care to the elderly and those in need. Tonya's nurturing spirit and genuine kindness were evident in every interaction, earning her the deep respect and admiration of those she served.
Tonya's heart was as vast as the Oklahoma sky, and her legacy is one of love, empathy, and service. She was known for her unparalleled ability to make those around her feel valued and seen, and her caring heart was her most defining attribute.
Her family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the emergency responders and personnel for their dedicated service and care. In honor of Tonya's memory, they urge everyone to heed safety warnings and never enter flooded waterways.
