Tony Lee Bumgarner

Tony Lee Bumgarner, a cherished soul known for his warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully at Elizabeth House in hospice care, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 1, 1951, Tony's journey through life touched countless hearts and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. Tony was the beloved son of Carl and Vada Bumgarner, who instilled in him the values of compassion and integrity that he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Bumgarner, and his sister, Cathy Flowers, whose memories he always held dear. On July 31, 1982, Tony embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship when he married Peggy. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Tony was a devoted father to his daughter, Alexis Bumgarner, who was his pride and joy. He also leaves behind a loving sister, Sheila Poovey, and a brother, Brent Bumgarner, who will forever cherish the moments they shared. Tony was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for his family and friends. His gentle spirit and generous heart were evident in the way he cared for others, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. A service to honor Tony's life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who brought so much joy and love into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tony's memory to Elizabeth House, located at 581 S. Allen Rd, Flat Rock, NC 28731, in recognition of the compassionate care they provided during his final days. Tony Lee Bumgarner's presence in our lives was a gift, and while we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the beautiful tapestry of memories he leaves behind.
