With profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Tony Crowell on September 28, 2026. Born on January 9, 1967, in the heart of Halifax County, Tony enriched the lives of countless individuals with his boundless warmth and infectious laughter. Tony was the beloved son of Lillian Louise Crowell and Jessie Mcgee Jr, both of whom predeceased him, along with his brothers Willis, Joseph, Johnny, and Leon Crowell, Napolean and Milton Gary, and his sisters Linda Crowell, Florence Walker, Frances Fenner, and Ella Mae Pierce. Despite the profound losses he endured, Tony's enduring spirit remained resilient and his heart generous. He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his children, Tony of the home, LaTonya of Garysburg, NC, Cornelia of Denver, CO, Cornelius of Mississippi, Travis of Butner, NC, Ka'Naijah, and Mar'Quavion of Battleboro, NC; and his cherished grandchildren, Izaveyon, Jamari, Izav'Yona, Isaiah, Azaria, and Ka'Mayah. Tony is also survived by his siblings, Delois Wright, Magnolia Hale (Melvin), Roger(Faye), Arthur, Jesse (Grace), and Christopher Crowell, Linda G. Davis, and Sylvester Gary. And host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Educated in the Halifax County School system, Tony spent many years working diligently as a farm laborer with Wilson Farms. His hands, familiar with the soil, were equally adept at nurturing his beloved garden and skillfully wielding his hunting gear. Tony's hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of his deep connection to nature and the simple joys of life. Known to many as a jokester, Tony never met a stranger. His personality was a beacon of joy, lighting up rooms and bringing smiles to faces. His helpful nature and joyful demeanor touched everyone he encountered, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Tony Crowell's legacy of laughter, love, and kindness will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. As his family lovingly says, he is "forever in our hearts."

In lieu of flowers, the family of Tony Crowell welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
