Tona was the beloved daughter of Frank Haliburton and Clara Taylor. Raised with enduring love and guidance, Tona grew into a compassionate woman whose presence touched the lives of many. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Brenda Haliburton, whose memories were forever close to her heart. In 1978, Tona embarked on a journey of love and commitment through marriage, creating a family and a life filled with memorable moments. Though her partner's name remains unmentioned, the love they shared was a testament to the strength and beauty of their union. Together, they raised five children—Clara, Monica, Francesca, Alvia, and Bernadette—who, along with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, will carry forward her legacy. Tona's educational journey began with homeschooling from 1960 to 1964, where she developed a foundation of knowledge and values that guided her life. Her career was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to her community. As a dedicated church woman and servant of God, Tona's spiritual journey began in 1969, as she devoted three decades to serving her church community with compassion and encouragement. Her role as a pastor, from which she retired at age 52, was not just a career but a calling that shaped her life's purpose. Known for her gentle strength and unwavering faith, Tona's hobbies were a reflection of her values. She found joy in engaging with her church community, offering support, and creating a warm home where love and kindness were ever-present. Tona's compassion was evident in her every interaction, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life's journey, teaching patience, forgiveness, and love. Tona leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and the values she instilled. Her gentle strength, kind spirit, and faith-filled presence were a guiding light, making all who knew her feel valued and seen. Her warmth and resilience have left an indelible mark on those she loved. A private funeral will be held to honor Tona's life and her profound impact on her family and friends.
